Dunelm: B Corp feasibility analysis through graduate scheme module
Key outcomes:
Designed Graduate Scheme project to assess B Corp viability
Education and project management of a group of graduates over 6 months
Formal and costed feasibility report
“Future Shift have been excellent, delivering a progressive yet well-managed B Corp feasibility module as a part of our graduate programme, offering insight, support and guidance throughout the project. Engaging with Future Shift has allowed us to offer our graduates a strategic project with real potential company-wide implementation down the line.”
Paul Wright, (previously) Procurement Director at Dunelm
The Challenge:
We began our engagement with Dunelm after an introduction from another client who also worked in the homeware sector. A proposal of work was accepted where we would support a group of students in their graduate scheme, led by Paul Wright and the internal Climate Change Lead, to outline what it would take for the homeware giant to become B Corp certified.
The Solution:
Through consistent support, mentorship and stakeholder engagement, we developed a costed (time and capital input) roadmap for the group to become B Corp. Working with graduates was a new and interesting challenge for the Future Shift team who learned a lot about mentorship and the potential for education through sustainability consulting work. This engagement paved the way for new services such as Graduate Shift to be developed, where solutions are targeted at early careers employees who are coming into a workplace which is defined by innovation within the sustainability space.
